The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 2.7.15

पौरुषाद्दृश्यते सिद्धिः पौरुषाद्धीमतां क्रमः ।
दैवमाश्वासनामात्रं दुःखे पेलवबुद्धिषु ॥ १५ ॥

pauruṣāddṛśyate siddhiḥ pauruṣāddhīmatāṃ kramaḥ |
daivamāśvāsanāmātraṃ duḥkhe pelavabuddhiṣu || 15 ||

Activity gives us success and it is this that elevates the intelligent. But men of little understandings rely only in fortune in their miserable state.
