The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

प्रत्यहं प्रत्यवेक्षेत देहं नश्वरमात्मनः ।
संत्यजेत्पशुभिस्तुल्यं श्रयेत्सत्पुरुषोचितम् ॥ १६ ॥

pratyahaṃ pratyavekṣeta dehaṃ naśvaramātmanaḥ |
saṃtyajetpaśubhistulyaṃ śrayetsatpuruṣocitam || 16 ||

One must ponder in himself every day that his body is subject to corruption, his beastly acts must be kept backward and man like acts put forward.
