The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 2.5.14

न गन्तव्यमनुद्योगैः साम्यं पुरुषगर्दभैः ।
उद्योगस्तु यथाशास्त्रं लोकद्वितयसिद्धये ॥ १४ ॥

na gantavyamanudyogaiḥ sāmyaṃ puruṣagardabhaiḥ |
udyogastu yathāśāstraṃ lokadvitayasiddhaye || 14 ||

Know that tranquility is not to be found by the effortlessness of dull ass-like men; it is the lawful energy of men which is said to secure his welfare in both worlds.
