The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 2.3.22

द्वादशाल्पधियस्तत्र कुलाकारेहितैः समाः ।
दश सर्वे समाकाराः शिष्टाः कुलविलक्षणाः ॥ २२ ॥

dvādaśālpadhiyastatra kulākārehitaiḥ samāḥ |
daśa sarve samākārāḥ śiṣṭāḥ kulavilakṣaṇāḥ || 22 ||

There were twelve of them possessed of a lesser understanding, they were the patriarchs of men, and endued with equal energy. Ten of them were men of subdued spirits, and the rest were adepts in their family duties.
