The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 2.1.21

जिज्ञासार्थं शुकस्यासावास्तामेवेत्यवज्ञया ।
उक्त्वा बभूव जनकस्तूष्णीं सप्त दिनान्यथ ॥ २१ ॥

jijñāsārthaṃ śukasyāsāvāstāmevetyavajñayā |
uktvā babhūva janakastūṣṇīṃ sapta dinānyatha || 21 ||

Janaka who understood that Suka had come to learn from him, gave no heed to the informant, but held his silence for seven days afterwards.
