The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

विश्वामित्र उवाच ।
आत्मोदन्तसमं राम कथ्यमानमिदं मया ।
श्रृणु व्यासात्मजोदन्तं जन्मनामन्तकारणम् ॥ ६ ॥

viśvāmitra uvāca |
ātmodantasamaṃ rāma kathyamānamidaṃ mayā |
śrṛṇu vyāsātmajodantaṃ janmanāmantakāraṇam || 6 ||

Viswamitra answered: "Hear me relate to thee Rama, the narrative of Sukadeva, whose case was exactly like thine, and the narration of which is a preventive of future births.
