The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

तत्कथं केन वा किं वा कृतमुत्तमचेतसा ।
पूर्वं येनैति विश्रामं परमं पावनं मनः ॥ १८ ॥

tatkathaṃ kena vā kiṃ vā kṛtamuttamacetasā |
pūrvaṃ yenaiti viśrāmaṃ paramaṃ pāvanaṃ manaḥ || 18 ||

Tell me of that man of enlightened understanding who had attained to the highest state of holiness and tranquility of his mind of yore, and the deeds and manner by which he achieved the same.
