The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

अजस्रमागच्छति सत्वरैवमनारतं गच्छति सत्वरैव ।
कुतोऽपि लोला जनता जगत्यां तरङ्गमाला क्षणभङ्गुरेव ॥ २३ ॥

ajasramāgacchati satvaraivamanārataṃ gacchati satvaraiva |
kuto'pi lolā janatā jagatyāṃ taraṅgamālā kṣaṇabhaṅgureva || 23 ||

The multitude of people on earth, is ever seen to appear in and disappear from it as fast as the passing waves of the sea, but who can tell whence they come and whither they return.
