The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 1.27.14

विषादयुक्तो विषमामवस्था मुपागतः कायवयोवसाने ।
भावान्स्मरन्स्वानिह धर्मरिक्तान् जन्तुर्जरावानिह दह्यतेऽन्तः ॥ १४ ॥

viṣādayukto viṣamāmavasthā mupāgataḥ kāyavayovasāne |
bhāvānsmaransvāniha dharmariktān janturjarāvāniha dahyate'ntaḥ || 14 ||

Old people being reduced to calamitous circumstances at the pitiable state of the decay of their bodies and decline of life, have greatly to be tormented at the thoughts of the impious deeds.
