The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 1.26.41

सर्व एव नरा मोहाद्दुराशापाशपाशिनः ।
दोषगुल्मकसारङ्गा विशीर्णा जन्मजङ्गले ।
संक्षीयते जगति जन्मपरम्परासु लोकस्य तैरिह कुकर्मभिरायुरेतत् ॥ ४१ ॥

sarva eva narā mohāddurāśāpāśapāśinaḥ |
doṣagulmakasāraṅgā viśīrṇā janmajaṅgale |
saṃkṣīyate jagati janmaparamparāsu lokasya tairiha kukarmabhirāyuretat || 41 ||

All mankind are deluded to entrap themselves in the snare of avarice, and to be afflicted with all evils in life, as the deer entangled in the thickets of a jungle.
