The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 1.23.19

तृणं पांसुं महेन्द्रं च सुमेरुं पर्णमर्णवम् ।
आत्मंभरितया सर्वमात्मसात्कर्तुमुद्यतः ॥ १९ ॥

tṛṇaṃ pāṃsuṃ mahendraṃ ca sumeruṃ parṇamarṇavam |
ātmaṃbharitayā sarvamātmasātkartumudyataḥ || 19 ||

Time is prompted by his rapacity to appropriate every thing to himself, from the meanest straw, dust, leaves and worms, to the greatest Indra and the mount Meru itself.
