The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 1.23.16

भिद्यते नावभग्नोऽपि दग्धोऽपि हि न दह्यते ।
दृश्यते नापि दृश्योऽपि धूर्तचूडामणिर्मुने ॥ १६ ॥

bhidyate nāvabhagno'pi dagdho'pi hi na dahyate |
dṛśyate nāpi dṛśyo'pi dhūrtacūḍāmaṇirmune || 16 ||

Time, O sage, is the subtlest of all things. It is divided though indivisible, it is consumed though incombustible, it is perceived though imperceptible in its nature.
