The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

ये केचन समारम्भास्ते सर्वे सर्वदुःखदाः ।
तारुण्ये संनिधिं यान्ति महोत्पाता इव क्षये ॥ १४ ॥

ye kecana samārambhāste sarve sarvaduḥkhadāḥ |
tāruṇye saṃnidhiṃ yānti mahotpātā iva kṣaye || 14 ||

As the efforts of a dying man are all for his torment, so the exertions of the young are portentous of his destruction.
