The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 1.19.31

सकलदोषदशाविहताशयं शरणमप्यविवेकविलासिनः ।
इह न कस्यचिदेव महामुने भवति बाल्यमलं परितुष्टये ॥ ३१ ॥

sakaladoṣadaśāvihatāśayaṃ śaraṇamapyavivekavilāsinaḥ |
iha na kasyacideva mahāmune bhavati bālyamalaṃ parituṣṭaye || 31 ||

Hence the hopeless state of childhood, which is full of faults and errors, and addicted to sports and thoughtlessness, cannot be satisfactory to any body.
