The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

नित्यमेवातिमलिना कटुकोन्माददायिनी ।
दीर्घतन्त्री घनस्नेहा तृष्णा गह्वरवल्लरी ॥ २० ॥

nityamevātimalinā kaṭukonmādadāyinī |
dīrghatantrī ghanasnehā tṛṣṇā gahvaravallarī || 20 ||

Our avarice is like the long fibered, dark and juicy poisonous creeper called Kaduka, that grows in the caverns of mountains, and maddens men by its flavour.
