The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

तृष्णातन्तुलवप्रोता बहुजन्मपरम्परा ।
अहंकारोग्रखिङ्गेन कण्ठे मुक्तावली कृता ॥ १६ ॥

tṛṣṇātantulavaprotā bahujanmaparamparā |
ahaṃkārograkhiṅgena kaṇṭhe muktāvalī kṛtā || 16 ||

The self-conceited are decorated with a string of pearls about their necks, of which avarice forms the thread, and repeated births—the pearls.
