The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

अहंकारवशादापदहंकाराहुराधयः ।
अहंकारवशादीहा त्वहंकारो ममामयः ॥ ३ ॥

ahaṃkāravaśādāpadahaṃkārāhurādhayaḥ |
ahaṃkāravaśādīhā tvahaṃkāro mamāmayaḥ || 3 ||

All accidents, anxieties, troubles and wicked exertions proceed from egoism or self-confidence; hence I deem egoism as a disease.
