The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 1.14.16

प्रत्यहं खेदमुत्सृज्य शनैरलमनारतम् ।
आखुनेव जरच्छुभ्रं कालेन विनिहन्यते ॥ १६ ॥

pratyahaṃ khedamutsṛjya śanairalamanāratam |
ākhuneva jaracchubhraṃ kālena vinihanyate || 16 ||

As a house is slowly dilapidated by the mice continually burrowing under it, so is the body of the living gradually corroded by the (pernicious) teeth of time boring within it.
