The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

न श्रीः सुखाय भगवन्दुःखायैव हि वर्धते ।
गुप्ता विनाशनं धत्ते मृतिं विषलता यथा ॥ १० ॥

na śrīḥ sukhāya bhagavanduḥkhāyaiva hi vardhate |
guptā vināśanaṃ dhatte mṛtiṃ viṣalatā yathā || 10 ||

Riches do not conduce to one's happiness, but redound to his woe and destruction, as the plant aconite when fostered, hides in itself the fatal poison.
