The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 1.11.30

वृद्धविप्रगुरुप्रोक्तं त्वादृशेनानुतिष्ठता ।
पदमासाद्यते पुण्यं न मोहमनुधावता ॥ ३० ॥

vṛddhavipraguruproktaṃ tvādṛśenānutiṣṭhatā |
padamāsādyate puṇyaṃ na mohamanudhāvatā || 30 ||

Know that it is by following the course of his elders, guides and Brahmanas, that one attains to meritoriousness, and not by his persistence in error.
