The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

उत्सङ्गे पुत्र तिष्ठेति वदत्यथ महीपतौ ।
भूमौ परिजनास्तीर्णे सोंऽशुकेऽथ न्यविक्षत ॥ २८ ॥

utsaṅge putra tiṣṭheti vadatyatha mahīpatau |
bhūmau parijanāstīrṇe soṃ'śuke'tha nyavikṣata || 28 ||

"Be you seated my son upon my lap", said the king to Rama, who however, took his seat on a fine piece of cloth spread on the floor by his servants.
