The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 1.10.30

आपातमात्रहृद्येषु मा भोगेषु मनः कृथाः ।
इति पार्श्वगतं भव्यमनुशास्ति सुहृज्जनम् ॥ ३० ॥

āpātamātrahṛdyeṣu mā bhogeṣu manaḥ kṛthāḥ |
iti pārśvagataṃ bhavyamanuśāsti suhṛjjanam || 30 ||

He would lecture his companions and friends saying, "do not set your mind to sensual enjoyments which are only pleasing for the time being."
