The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

करिष्यामीति संश्रुत्य प्रतिज्ञां हातुमर्हसि ।
स भवान्केसरी भूत्वा मृगतामिव वाञ्छसि ॥ २ ॥

kariṣyāmīti saṃśrutya pratijñāṃ hātumarhasi |
sa bhavānkesarī bhūtvā mṛgatāmiva vāñchasi || 2 ||

Thou art about to break thy promise after pledging thyself to its performance, and thus wishest to behave as a deer after having been a lion.
