The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 1.8.31

तस्मात्प्रसादं धर्मज्ञ कुरु त्वं मम पुत्रके ।
मम चैवाल्पभाग्यस्य भवान्हि परदैवतम् ॥ ३१ ॥

tasmātprasādaṃ dharmajña kuru tvaṃ mama putrake |
mama caivālpabhāgyasya bhavānhi paradaivatam || 31 ||

Therefore, O thou, that art acquainted with law, do this favour to my son, (as not to take him away); unlucky as I am, it is thou that art the arbiter of my fate.
