The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 1.8.30

अद्यास्मिंस्तु वयं काले रावणादिषु शत्रुषु ।
न समर्थाः पुरः स्थातुं नियतेरेष निश्चयः ॥ ३० ॥

adyāsmiṃstu vayaṃ kāle rāvaṇādiṣu śatruṣu |
na samarthāḥ puraḥ sthātuṃ niyatereṣa niścayaḥ || 30 ||

Now a days we are no match for such foes as Ravana and some others. Such is the decree of destiny.
