The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

न च पुत्रकृतं स्नेहं कर्तुमर्हसि पार्थिव ।
न तदस्ति जगत्यस्मिन्यन्न देयं महात्मनाम् ॥ १९ ॥

na ca putrakṛtaṃ snehaṃ kartumarhasi pārthiva |
na tadasti jagatyasminyanna deyaṃ mahātmanām || 19 ||

Let not paternal affection prevail over thee O king, (to withhold thy son), as there is nothing in this world, which the high-minded will refuse to part with.
