The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 1.5.13

ततो दशरथो राजा रामः किं खेदवानिति ।
अपृच्छत्सर्वकार्यज्ञं वसिष्ठं वदतां वरम् ॥ १३ ॥

tato daśaratho rājā rāmaḥ kiṃ khedavāniti |
apṛcchatsarvakāryajñaṃ vasiṣṭhaṃ vadatāṃ varam || 13 ||

Afterwards the king Dasaratha asked Vasishtha, the best of speakers and well informed in all matters, as to the cause why Rama was so sorrowful.
