The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 1.3.10

अयं वासनया देहो ध्रियते भूतपञ्जरः ।
तनुनान्तर्निविष्टेन मुक्तौघस्तन्तुना यथा ॥ १० ॥

ayaṃ vāsanayā deho dhriyate bhūtapañjaraḥ |
tanunāntarniviṣṭena muktaughastantunā yathā || 10 ||

Our desires which uphold our living bodies (and minds), bind us fast as by strings to our bodily prison. These being loosened, the inward soul is liberated.
