The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

क्षीणायां वासनायां तु चेतो गलति सत्वरम् ।
क्षीणायां शीतसंतत्यां ब्रह्मन्हिमकणो यथा ॥ ९ ॥

kṣīṇāyāṃ vāsanāyāṃ tu ceto galati satvaram |
kṣīṇāyāṃ śītasaṃtatyāṃ brahmanhimakaṇo yathā || 9 ||

The absence of desires leads to the extinction of mental actions, in the same manner as the absence of cold conduces to the dissolution of small particles of ice.
