The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 1.1.41

अतः परं महोग्रं च तपः कृत्वा कलेवरम् ।
त्यक्ष्याम्यहमशुद्धं हि जीर्णां त्वचमिवोरगः ॥ ४१ ॥

ataḥ paraṃ mahograṃ ca tapaḥ kṛtvā kalevaram |
tyakṣyāmyahamaśuddhaṃ hi jīrṇāṃ tvacamivoragaḥ || 41 ||

"I will henceforth practise the most austere form of devotion, and abandon this my unhallowed human frame in the same way, as the snake abandons his time-worn-skin.
