The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

केवलात्कर्मणो ज्ञानान्नहि मोक्षोऽभिजायते ।
किंतूभाभ्यां भवेन्मोक्षः साधनं तूभयं विदुः ॥ ८ ॥

kevalātkarmaṇo jñānānnahi mokṣo'bhijāyate |
kiṃtūbhābhyāṃ bhavenmokṣaḥ sādhanaṃ tūbhayaṃ viduḥ || 8 ||

It is neither our acts nor knowledge alone that produces emancipation, but both together are known as the means of it.
