यद्युत्तरोत्तराभावः पूर्वपूर्वन्तु निष्फलम् ।
निवृत्तिः परमा तृप्तिरानन्दोऽनुपमः स्वतः ॥ ४२0 ॥yadyuttarottarābhāvaḥ pūrvapūrvantu niṣphalam |
nivṛttiḥ paramā tṛptirānando'nupamaḥ svataḥ || 420 ||420. If there is an absence of the succeeding stages, the preceding ones are futile. (When the series is perfect) the cessation of the objective world, extreme satisfaction, and matchless bliss follow as a matter of course.
