Sanskrit text, Unicode transliteration and English translation of verse 3.3.21:
अथाप्यवाच्यमित्येवं न तद् वाच्यं प्रतीयते ।
विवक्षितास्य यावस्था सैव नाध्यवसीयते ॥ २१ ॥athāpyavācyamityevaṃ na tad vācyaṃ pratīyate |
vivakṣitāsya yāvasthā saiva nādhyavasīyate || 21 ||21. If it is said to be not capable of being expressed even by the word ‘inexpressible’ the condition that is meant to be conveyed would not be understood.
Commentary
[If it is maintained that it is not expressed even by the word ‘inexpressible’, then what is intended to be conveyed by all this is not understood, namely, that inherence does not come within the range of words].
