Sanskrit text, Unicode transliteration and English translation of verse 2.149:
स्वरवृत्तिं विकुरुते मधौ पुंस्कोकिलस्य कः ।
जन्त्वादयः कुलायादिकरणे केन शिक्षिताः ॥ १४९ ॥svaravṛttiṃ vikurute madhau puṃskokilasya kaḥ |
jantvādayaḥ kulāyādikaraṇe kena śikṣitāḥ || 149 ||149. Who transforms the voice of the male cuckoo in spring? Who teaches living beings to build nests etc.?
Commentary
[It follows from the way in which the subject is treated that in the case of human beings also, the Intuition produced at the moment when we hear words is not only caused by the words but also by something inherited from previous lives.]
