The Vaisheshika-sutra 5.1.10, English translation, including commentaries such as the Upaskara of Shankara Mishra, the Vivriti of Jayanarayana-Tarkapanchanana and the Bhashya of Chandrakanta. वैदिकं च ॥ ५.२.१० ॥
vaidikaṃ ca || 5.2.10 ||
nodana-viśeṣāt—from a particular molecular movement; udasana-viśeṣaḥ—particular throwing away.
10. From particular molecular movement, (results) particular throwing away.
Commentary: The Upaskāra of Śaṅkara Miśra:

‘Udasana’ means throwing far upwards.

Commentary: The Vivṛti of Jayanārāyaṇa:
(English extracts of Jayanārāyaṇa Tarkapañcānana’s Vivṛti or ‘gloss’ called the Kaṇādasūtravivṛti from the 17th century)
“nodanaviśeṣāt”, i.e., from a heterogeneous molecular movement produced by the aforesaid volition, “udasana”, i.e., throwing high upwards, going upwards, “bhavati”, i.e., takes place, which completes the aphorism. Thus, by agreement and difference, the causality of particular molecular movement toward upward motion, is proved. “udasana”, going upwards, is an indication. Sideward motion, etc., also should be understood.
