விதறு படாவண்ணம் வேறிருந்து ஆய்ந்து,
பதறு படாதே பழமறை பார்த்துக்,
கதறிய பாழைக் கடந்ததக் கற்பனை,
உதறிய பாழில் ஒடுங்குகின் றானே.
vitaṟu paṭāvaṇṇam vēṟiruntu āyntu,
pataṟu paṭātē paḻamaṟai pārttuk,
kataṟiya pāḻaik kaṭantatak kaṟpaṉai,
utaṟiya pāḻil oṭuṅkukiṉ ṟāṉē.
English translation of verse 2948:
Undistracted, I sit aloof and meditate,
Doubt-free, I follow the ancient Vedas,
I cross the awesome waste, this life is,
And beyond into the Void, that defies imagination,
I merge.
