Summary: This thesis is called: The validity of Anumana (inference) in Nyaya system. Anumana in Nyaya system is the knowledge of any object not by direct observation but by means of the knowledge of a liṅga or sign and that of its universal relation with the inferred object.

The first chapter gives an overall picture on the subject of study and justifies its relevance and significance.
