Chapter 361 - Greatness of Mārkaṇḍeśvara (Mārkaṇḍa-īśvara)

Īśvara said:

1-2. Thereafter, O goddess, one should go to Ghaṭikā-sthāna situated on the bank of Hiraṇyā. There formerly a sage (Mṛkaṇḍa) became Siddha within one Ghaṭi (24 minutes) by his Yoga of concentration.

He installed the Liṅga. It is Mārkaṇḍeśvara by name. By viewing and worshipping it quells all sins.
