Sanskrit text and transliteration:

परस्वभावविध्वंसवर्त्मनैवात्मवस्तुनः ।
वक्ष्यत्यवगतिं चोर्ध्वं विधिनैवेति दुस्थितम् ॥ ७०२ ॥

parasvabhāvavidhvaṃsavartmanaivātmavastunaḥ |
vakṣyatyavagatiṃ cordhvaṃ vidhinaiveti dusthitam || 702 ||

English translation of verse 2.702:

Through the process of negating the alien forms (like the annamaya, etc.) śruti will, in the sequel, convey the knowledge of the Self. So it cannot be said that through an injunction alone (this knowledge of the Self is obtained).
