स्वाभिधेयं निराकाङ्क्षो ह्यनुवादः प्रबोधयेत् ।
तत्र चेदप्रमाणं स्यात्स्यात्तदुच्चारणं वृथा ॥ ६९८ ॥
svābhidheyaṃ nirākāṅkṣo hyanuvādaḥ prabodhayet |
tatra cedapramāṇaṃ syātsyāttaduccāraṇaṃ vṛthā || 698 ||
English translation of verse 2.698:
A restatement can, indeed, make known what it states without depending on anything else. If it is not a pramāṇa in that respect, its utterance is futile.
