Sanskrit text and transliteration:
अदृश्यं पश्य इत्येवं नियुक्तोऽपि न शक्नुयात् ।
शक्नुयात् स नियोगाच्चेत्कुर्यात्तस्करकन्दुवत् ॥ ६७९ ॥
adṛśyaṃ paśya ityevaṃ niyukto'pi na śaknuyāt |
śaknuyāt sa niyogāccetkuryāttaskarakanduvat || 679 ||
English translation of verse 2.679:
Though a person is thus commanded to see what cannot be seen, he cannot do it. If it be said that he will do it because of the injunction, then he will do it like the thief who did the work of Kandu.
