Sanskrit text and transliteration:

फलोक्तिः परमाप्नोतीत्याप्ता ब्रह्मविदुच्यते ।
सामर्थ्याद् ब्रह्मविद्या तु परस्यावाप्तिसाधनम् ॥ ३१ ॥

phaloktiḥ paramāpnotītyāptā brahmaviducyate |
sāmarthyād brahmavidyā tu parasyāvāptisādhanam || 31 ||

English translation of verse 2.31:

The fruit is stated in the words “attains the Supreme”; the attainer of the fruit is spoken of as “the knower of Brahman.” From what is conveyed by this sentence it follows that Brahman-knowledge is the means to the attainment of the Supreme.
