प्रवृत्तिजनकं यस्मात्सर्वत्रैव प्रयोजनम् ।
श्रुतिर्ब्रह्मविदाप्नोतीत्याह पुंसः प्रलुब्धये ॥ २७ ॥

pravṛttijanakaṃ yasmātsarvatraiva prayojanam |
śrutirbrahmavidāpnotītyāha puṃsaḥ pralubdhaye || 27 ||

English translation of verse 2.27:

Since the end to be attained is everywhere the cause of activity, Scripture declares that "the knower of Brahman attains (the highest)” with a view to kindle desire (for Brahman-knowledge) in the person.
