क्षयिण्णु साध्यं विज्ञाय निःशेषं कर्मसाधनम् ।
तत्त्यागसाधनस्तस्मात्प्रत्यज्ञाने प्रवर्तते ॥ १२ ॥
kṣayiṇṇu sādhyaṃ vijñāya niḥśeṣaṃ karmasādhanam |
tattyāgasādhanastasmātpratyajñāne pravartate || 12 ||
English translation of verse 2.12:
Hence, knowing that all works which are means lead to perishable results, a person, equipped with the renunciation of works, seeks to attain Self-knowledge.
