The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 4.9.25; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. अथ अनुभाव-वैरूप्यम् —
समयानां व्यतिक्रान्तिर् ग्राम्यत्वं धृष्टापि च ।
वैरूप्यम् अनुभावादेर् मनीषिभिर् उदीरितम् ॥४.९.२५॥

atha anubhāva-vairūpyam —
samayānāṃ vyatikrāntir grāmyatvaṃ dhṛṣṭāpi ca |
vairūpyam anubhāvāder manīṣibhir udīritam
||4.9.25||

English translation

“The wise say that irregularity in the anubhāva consists of transgressing the codes of conduct, vulgarity and audacity.”
