The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 4.9.16; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. In this work Goswami describes the nature and different forms of pure love (rasa) as well as various other topics on Vaishnavism and devotion.

अनेकत्र रतिर्, यथा —
गान्धर्वि कुर्वाणम् अवेक्ष्य लीलाम्
अग्रे धरण्यां सखि काम-पालम् ।
आकर्णयन्ती च मुकुन्द-वेणुं
भिन्नाद्य साध्वि स्मरतो द्विधासि ॥४.९.१६॥

anekatra ratir, yathā —
gāndharvi kurvāṇam avekṣya līlām
agre dharaṇyāṃ sakhi kāma-pālam |
ākarṇayantī ca mukunda-veṇuṃ
bhinnādya sādhvi smarato dvidhāsi
||4.9.16||

English translation

Rati for several persons:
“O Rādhā! O friend! O chaste woman! Seeing Balarāma perform pastimes on this earth and hearing the sound of Mādhava’s flute, You have been divided into two parts by Cupid.”
