The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 4.9.2; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. In this work Goswami describes the nature and different forms of pure love (rasa) as well as various other topics on Vaishnavism and devotion.

स्युस् त्रिधोपरसाश् चानु-रसाश् चापरसाश् च ते ।
उत्तमा मध्यमाः प्रोक्ताः कनिष्ठाश् चेत्य् अमी क्रमात् ॥४.९.२॥

syus tridhoparasāś cānu-rasāś cāparasāś ca te |
uttamā madhyamāḥ proktāḥ kaniṣṭhāś cety amī kramāt
||4.9.2||

English translation

Rasābhāsas are classed as three types: uttama, madhyama and kaniṣṭha, or uparasa, anurasa and aparasa.”
