The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 4.8.47; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. In this work Goswami describes the nature and different forms of pure love (rasa) as well as various other topics on Vaishnavism and devotion.

मुख्यस् त्व् अङ्गत्वम् आसाद्य पुष्णन्न् इन्द्रम् उपेन्द्रवत् ।
गौणम् एवाङ्गिनं कृत्वा निगूढ-निज-वैभवः ॥४.८.४७॥

mukhyas tv aṅgatvam āsādya puṣṇann indram upendravat |
gauṇam evāṅginaṃ kṛtvā nigūḍha-nija-vaibhavaḥ
||4.8.47||

English translation

“Just as Vāmana concealed His powers and nourished Indra, the primary rasa takes a recessive role and nourishes the secondary rasa, which becomes strong.”
