The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 4.8.45; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. In this work Goswami describes the nature and different forms of pure love (rasa) as well as various other topics on Vaishnavism and devotion.

स्तोकाद् विभावनाज् जातः सम्प्राप्य व्यभिचारिताम् ।
पुष्णन् निज-प्रभुं मुख्यं गौणस् तत्रैव लीयते ॥४.८.४५॥

stokād vibhāvanāj jātaḥ samprāpya vyabhicāritām |
puṣṇan nija-prabhuṃ mukhyaṃ gauṇas tatraiva līyate
||4.8.45||

English translation

“A secondary rasa that arises from a slight stimulus takes on the quality of a vyabhicārī-bhāva, and having nourished the primary rasa, merges into it.”
