The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 4.8.40; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. In this work Goswami describes the nature and different forms of pure love (rasa) as well as various other topics on Vaishnavism and devotion.
Verse 4.8.40
adbhute preyo-vīra-hāsyānāṃ, yathā —
mitrāṇīka-vṛtaṃ gadāyudhi guruṃ-manyaṃ pralamba-dviṣaṃ
yaṣṭyā durbalayā vijitya purataḥ solluṇṭham udgāyataḥ |
śrīdāmnaḥ kila vīkṣya keli-samarāṭopotsave pāṭavaṃ
kṛṣṇaḥ phulla-kapolakaḥ pulakavān visphāra-dṛṣṭir babhau ||4.8.40||
atra gauṇe mukhyasya gauṇayoś ca |
Adbhuta-rasa (secondary) as aṅgī with sakhya(primary) and vīra and hāsya(secondary) as aṅgas:
“Seeing the skill of Sudāma, swelling with pride while uttering sarcastic
words as he used a very small stick to defeat Balarāma—who thought Himself the guru of club fighting—in mock battle, Kṛṣṇa became joyful. His hairs stood on end and His eyes widened.”
